What we can experience in the shade,
if we listen to the ancients’ fever,
the ceaseless echo of passionate voices
crying out through the walls:
that remain silent
upon first glance,
Is that all chronicles of humankind
Are entombed in the muscle of earth:
It can’t be heard unless it is sought through
It’s own course of peace…
& we enter, our birthplace,
The doors to experience
This opening,
& awaits the place that we escaped…
Did we find meaning, we wonder,
But I know & you know:
Here lies the mystery…
Presented in a circle.
Rock Phases They Call Mystical
Prodigal laxity pulls a sword,
Harsh momentum,
On my own approach;
It’s a war upon the future me:
Emphasis makes indistinct its focus,
Too much highlighting blinds & fogs,
The wildebeest is lost,
& I come, a furious stampede,
Sarcastic fool, sometimes brushing
The fine, holy hairs of a wise contact
I would have killed
If it weren’t a chimera;
Then I pause – publish screams from
My mind
That now sees its own disappointment,
Drops the weapon,
& announces to its world:
Acceleration is its own suicide,
If a sliding helix –
I lose my moons in twofold contractions:
Fear & love: extroverted egos
Given time to win time…
An impossible race – harmonizing orbit –
What is passed infinity?
How does my body outlive
Urgency & perplexity
I can’t explain
In less than my own existence?
Oxygen-curiosity,
A fish out of water;
One side of this uncombed exploration
Leaves me a whiskey-ed, odor relic;
Each new break of day
A dehydrated amnesiac headhunter,
& the other side,
My celestial prey.
